Vou falar hoje de duas coisas que gosto muito: livros e fotografia. Quando estive em Londres fui à exposição da artista Gillian Wearing, fotógrafa britânica que mostrava alí, por meio de fotos e vídeos, as preocupações e inseguranças que todos têm, mas escondem através do vestuário, postura ou papel que representam na sociedade. Muito, muito, muito interessante. Saindo da exposição, fui à livraria da galeria onde eu estava, pra dar uma fuçada no que eu podia encontrar de interessante.
Bom, encontrei um livro chamado "If You Leave", resultado de um Tumblr criado por Laurance Tarquin Von Thomas, cuja ideia consiste em jovens fotógrafos retratarem o sentimento de solidão, nostalgia e abandono, e percebi que na verddade, essas são coisas que todo mundo acaba sentindo em algum momento enquanto está em uma viagem longa. Fuçando pelo site do fotógrafo, ví que ele tem outros projetos que partilham mais ou menos do mesmo tema. Para quem quiser ver, é só clicar aqui. O livro trás fotos tiradas no mundo todo e tem até brasileiros no meio! Selecionei uma para colocar aqui, que claro, pertence a um brasileiro! E aííí, depois de ter visto esse livro, lembrei do Post Secret, um projeto também que já existe há abastante tempo e começou quando o idealizador, Frank Warren, pediu a estranhos que enviassem seus melhores segredos anonimamente, para que as pessoas que enviassem, por um lado, se sentissem aliviadas por partilhar aquilo, e de outro lado, para que quem visse o segredo alheio pudesse identificar-se com os sentimentos revelados. O legal é que pessoas do mundo todo passaram a enviar seus segredos e todos os temas são abordados, o importante é ter criatividade na maneira de contar o babado ;). O site é atualizado todo domingo de manhã e os segredos que ficaram lá por uma semana, são substituidos por novos. Como a procura foi tão grande, deu origem a cinco livros, que podem ser comprados no Amazon ou em qualquer livraria para quem está nos Estados Unidos. Os preços online vão desde U$S7 a U$S20, mais ou menos.
Today I'll talk about two things I really enjoy: books and photography. When in London, I went to Gillian Wearing's exhibition, a britsh artist that was using pictures and videos to show the worries and insecurities that all of us have and end up fidding ways to hide it from the world, by the way we dress, the way we walk or the function one develops in society. Really, really interesting. When I finished seeing it all, I stoped by the gallery's bookstore where I was to look around and try to find something cool.

His idea was to make young photographers shoot scenes that could capture the feeling of loneliness, nostaly and abandon, and I realized that these are feelings everyone has at least once while doing a long trip. So, seeing this book reminnded me of Post Secret, a project that's been going on for a long time and started when Frank Warren asked strangers to send their best secrets anonymously, so when they did it, in one hand, they could feel better for sharing it, and in the other hand, those who read it, could feel conected and somehow understood. The cool thing about it is that secrets started to arrive from every country, talking about all subjects. The most important thing is to be creative in the way of telling your secret :) A new post goes online every sunday and all of it brought the project to 5 books so far!
